Simply Scripture: Isaiah 58:9-11

If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Isaiah 58:9-11

When I opened my Bible this morning, this is where the page fell. A reminder to focus on what’s important….the needs of OTHERS. It’s not about giving according to what I can afford (what I lack) but giving based on what the Lord has already given me. I have to see the glass as “half full”. If my glass is “half full” then there is always enough to go around.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

2 Corinthians 8:12

The Lord will take care of me- I just need to use what I have to care for others. I am thankful that the Lord set this in front of me today.
